Everett Stone (Dermot Mulroney) wants to bring his girlfriend, Meredith Morton (Sarah Jessica Parker), to meet his bohemian Connecticut family at Christmas. Meredith is uptight, conservative, therefore, she soon finds that she’s a fish out of water in their free-spirited way of life.
The movie follows three graduates vacationing in Paris as they find themselves whisked away to Monte Carlo where they live like royalty and experience romance after one of the girls is mistaken for a British heiress. But at the end of their journey, they discover the true magic of friendship.
