The film tells a story which takes place in three time periods. Haunting, yet stylistically beautiful, the story follows a young woman who is raped and how she executes retribution on her attacker.
The film sets out to reveal the menace lurking within a divided small-town community. When the daughter of a US congressman is killed as she’s passing through the town, a legion of hard-as-nails FBI agents descend upon the town to solve the tragic murder.
A struggling married couple try to reconnect at an idyllic lake house, but their relationship is tested when their young daughter begins to fixate on an imaginary friend that may or may not be real.
