The movie follows two adolescents with acute psychic powers who are chased by a scheming millionaire who wants to harness their special powers for his benefit. A cynical widower, helps the kids ‘escape to witch mountain,’ while at the same time the kids help him escape the pain of the loss of his wife.
A young boy goes to meet a ruined industrialist in a treeless wasteland and hear his tale of his environmentally self-destructive greed despite the warnings of an old forest creature.
The film is based on a play by Norman Brooks, The Fragile Fox. It is about a captain Eddie Albert whose wrong actions are taken to heart by his officers. He does not know that Jack Palance has a conspiracy to kill himself.
